Hi, I'm Ruby.
I Help People Become Themselves
I help people find joy and satisfaction in their lives through supportive and empathetic therapy. I see a wide range of people, from those suffering with depression or anxiety, to those who are recovering from childhood trauma, and individuals who are wanting to become more fully themselves.
With almost 10 years of experience as a psychotherapist and post-graduate training in Gestalt Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and PTSD and Dissociative Disorders, I enjoy working with people who are determined to grow into their best selves. I see people who have a wide range of concerns and possible diagnoses and offer individual, relationship, and online counseling services. I also provide training supervision for social workers seeking their independent licensure. My office is located in the Clintonville neighborhood of Columbus, OH.
I chose to become a therapist after initially pursuing an academic career in Gender Studies. My coursework and research focused on how people construct their identities and the ways in which our choices about how we can become are shaped by many outside factors. This has been a wonderful background for helping therapy clients see possibilities and make choices about how to become themselves.
I've spent many years doing my own work in therapy, and will spend much more time in therapy since being in therapy is essential for therapists. I share this because I want you to know that I know what it's like to sit on the couch.
I identify as and live with my husband, our two year-old, and one cat. For fun we spend lots of time outside, reading, and doing arts and crafts stuff.
